1760 RARE PRIVATELY CARRIED ENTIRE LETTER FROM FAMOUS SLAVE OWNER, WESTMORELAND PARISH TO EDINBURGH (1st August) entire letter from James Barclay (Sugar Plantation and slave owner of note) headed "Jamaica Westmoreland", the address panel endorsed "To the care of Mr Alexander Paterson" (with further mention in the letter that "this comes by Mr Alexander Paterson, a gentleman that has lived some time here", a fellow land owner on the Island), addressed to "Writter of the Signet", Edinburgh, and showing a fine "6 DE" Bishop mark.
