1841 (12 Feb) EL from Peebles to Akehead Wigton, Cumberland regarding the proposed 'National Railway of Scotland' filled with interesting commentary and information including a method of circulating proposals from one person to the next by adding stamps '...such are the benefits of the new postage system' bearing 2d deep blue 'HG' plate 2 with 4 small to huge margins tied by red MC cancellation, the cover with short tear at top and some wrinkling. A very scarce example of a 2d plate 2 tied to cover by red Maltese Cross, spec DS7f.
