1853 25 R. Maria II with wide margins all around (a hole in left margin otherwise very fine), tied by blue "52" cancel and "PORTO 28 NOVBR 1853" cds alongside on entire letter to Remscheid, Grand Duché de Berg (Preussen, Germany). Sent "via de Madrid y Paris" with "SPANIEN" boxed h.s and 10 Silbergroschen postage due applied at arrival.
A VERY RARE DESTINATION FOR THE FIRST ISSUE OF PORTUGAL, ONLY TWO COVERS SEEM TO BE RECORDED TO „GERMANY“. Both are from the same correspondance to Remscheid, the other one is a double rate cover franked with 50 Reis (sold by Corinphila in 1984, lot 2916).

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
