1907.VII.15 Munkácsy Mihály (1844-1900) festőművész özvegye, Cécile de Munkácsy, szül. Papier (1845-1915) autográf, francia nyelvű levele Gerő Ödönnek (1863-1939), a Pesti Napló szerkesztőjének, aki ebben az időben a Petőfi Album szerkesztésén és írásán dolgozott. Munkácsy özvegye megígéri, hogy a festőművész Petőfi búcsúja a szülői háztól c. művéről küld egy reprodukciót valamint örülne neki, amennyiben decemberben kapna egy példányt az albumból. Kiemeli, hogy néhai férje mennyire szerette és tisztelte Petőfi munkásságát. Megkéri Gerőt, hogy lehetőleg küldjön neki egy budapesti német nyelvű napilapot, mivel nem elégséges a magyar nyelv tudása, hogy figyelemmel tudja követni a magyarországi eseményeket, "a hazáját annak, akit gyászolok és aki megtanított szeretni". Három kézzel írt oldal, Chateau de Colpach fejléces papírján, Cécile de Munkácsy autográf aláírásával. Eredeti, Munkácsy özvegye által kézzel címzett, sérült és hiányos borítékban. A colpachi kastélyban Munkácsy nagyon sok időt töltött, többek közt itt kezdte el egyik főműve, a Köpülő asszony festését. / 15.07.1907 Letter from the widow of famous Hungarian painter Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900), Cécile de Munkácsy, born Papier (1845-1915) in French. She writes to Hungarian journalist Ödön (Edmund) Gerő, who at the time works on album about Sándor Petőfi, the most famous Hungarian poet of the XIX. century and mentions, that she will send a reproduction of a painting that is Munkácsy's work on Petőfi. In order to stay up to date with what is happening in Hungary, she asks for german speaking newspaper in Budapest. With some other interesting details. Three hand written pages, wih autograph signature by Cécile de Munkácsy and in original envelope.
